Parents’ Forum
The Parents’ Forum meets once a term and is open to any interested parents or carers. It was set up to provide parents with an opportunity to discuss educational issues and to improve consultation with both parents and carers. Agenda items may be suggested by parents or school in advance of the meetings and this ensures that we reflect the issues that are of interest to both parties.
The meetings are quite informal but are minuted. We have discussed a wide range of issues:
- The new school report format
- Classroom organisation with increasing numbers on roll
- Parents’ questionnaires
- Lunchtime arrangements
- Parental support in school
- Home-school agreements
- Homework
- Transition arrangements between Y2 and Y3
- The school website
- Riccall Learning and Teaching Policy
- The North Yorkshire Milk Scheme
- School uniform
- Open afternoons
- Buildings update
- Riccall Internet Policy
- Communication systems with parents and carers
- Riccall Values Statement
- Pupil punctuality
- Assessment; England’s policy and practice within an international context
- The school lunch menu
