Miss Salmon's newsletter 3rd September
Team 100% Newsletter
Welcome back one and all!
I hope your summer holidays were relaxing and you are all ready for action…
As you can see our team name this year is TEAM 100%, the children chose this as we are going to give everything we do 100%!
They have all settled into our new classroom amazingly well and have worked hard for both Mrs Broxup and I.
New Routine:
As you have noticed the morning routine has changed, I will pick the children up from the playground in the morning and walk them to class. In an afternoon you can collect them from the classroom door as normal.
PE days are now Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning, PE kits are OK left in school all week as we have plenty of space in the cloakroom.
Next Week:
We are starting our new topic ‘UNDER THE SEA’, if you have any books, pictures, resources or materials at home that we could use we will look after them. The role play area has some dressing up clothes but if you have anything appropriate that we could add it would be appreciated.
We are starting Maths and Literacy and will be looking at counting and partitioning and reading the Rainbow Fish.
Mrs Broxup will be taking the class on a Thursday and Friday afternoon and she will be doing Harvest in RE, Creative work linked to the topic and SEAL (personal and social skills).
Homework:
v Reading – ALL children have been given a reading book, can you spend some time with them looking at the book
v KIRFS – Number bonds to 5 and 20
v Research on ‘Under The Sea’ – Fish and creatures they may find to bring in for the class display
Our Class is a welcoming place and the door is always open and it would be lovely to see you! If you would like to come and help them we would welcome you! Here’s looking forward to a fantastic year!
