Friday 21st May
Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
Thank you to all of you who came along on Tuesday to support the children on their bike/scooter ride.  We hope you enjoyed it, it was lovely to have the opportunity to share the afternoon with you all and the children really have been buzzing all week! It will be absolutely fantastic if they can return on Monday to see big changes in our outdoor area and see an immediate return for all their efforts. Please do pop along on Sunday if you get chance!

In Numeracy we began the week by looking at capacity we then went on to think about subtraction. In Literacy we thought about descriptive words and wrote ‘What am I?’ poems, the children did really well with these and many of their descriptions were first class!

Some of the children have new sounds and action words in their books, please continue to check the children’s sound books and consolidate all the sounds the children have learnt. Please don’t forget to re-cap sounds you think the children are secure with, if they don’t regularly re-visit them, they can be easily forgotten.
Next week the sound of the week will be ‘qu’.
Big Talk: Next week in Big Talk we will be discussing the following idea; ‘Shapes’, please take time to discuss this with your child over the weekend.
Information and Reminders:
  • Sunday 23rd May from 10am: Developing our outdoor area, please join us if you have a spare hour or two! There are lots of little jobs to do; many hands really do make light work!
  • School will be closed next Friday; 28th May.
  • Ros Bayley course at the Regen centre: Wednesday 26th May (am or pm). Please see the sign on the classroom door for more info!
  • Thursday 17th June: Class trip to Eureka
  • The sun has finally made an appearance!  If you would like to send your child with sun cream please clearly label the bottle with their name and teach them how to apply it. A sun-hat is also highly recommended!

As always if you have any questions, queries or want to share some good news, please do not hesitate to pop in and speak to one of the team. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.

Regards Caroline, Sue and Carol
