Meet the Staff
Governor Committees: Resources; School improvement
I joined the school in September 2015. I have twin daughters, who keep me very busy and I love playing sport. My favourites are football, boxing and running, which all keep me reasonably fit! I’m also a big Chelsea FC fan so will always be happy on a Monday if they have won at the weekend. Away from sport, I enjoy reading, films and cooking. I think it’s really important that children are active learners and take responsibility for their learning, so I’m always keen to see this as I’m walking around school. I’m always popping in and out of classrooms as I find it really rewarding to see all the exciting things that are going on in our school.
Deputy Headteacher, SENCO and RE Leader, Year 4 teacher
Hello! I am the Deputy Head at school and I love teaching at Riccall. Our children are creative and exciting and make coming to school each day a real adventure... I am currently the Year 1 teacher and work alongside Mrs Northern. So, if you are in school come and see 'THE SUPER MEGA BRAINS!' we love sharing our learning journey with others. I am SENCo for the school which means I look at how we are meeting the needs of all our learners and making sure that those who need it get support at the right times. Our children know that their contributions are valued and help shape what we offer them. I work in partnership with Parents so they are involved in what is going on and are part of how we support our children. I live in the village and am enjoying discovering walks with our dog Scruff. I have 2 children (Jake and Belle) and they both help out at school when they can. They are both teenagers now and they love it when I share stories about them (or maybe they dont!). I love to read and Terry Pratchett is my favourite author, his discworld novels capture my imagination and make me laugh out loud. I can recommend Maurice and his educated rodents as this is a different twist on the Pied Piper of Hamlyn. I am a bit of a film buff and love going to the cinema (maybe for the huge bag of pick and mix!). I look forward to seeing you...
Foundation Stage Teacher
Hi, I’m Mrs Morris and I’m new to Riccall school, I am really excited to be the new Foundation stage teacher and get to know my new class. We will be learning new skills through a combination of play and adult led activities following the interests of the children. Away from school, I live with my husband and 6 year old son, we enjoy spending lots of time outdoors and love camping in Cornwall every summer. My son and I are both members of our local martial arts club where I kick box every week.

I am currently enjoying being back in the classroom part-time with Year 4. I have worked with Mrs Kinnaird in the past and am looking forward to working alongside her again. I love stories and reading to children is one of my greatest pleasures; nothing is as satisfying as reaching the end of a good book and hearing the applause of children who have become totally immersed in the story and the lives of the characters over a few weeks. My favourite author is Michael Morpurgo, closely followed by Elen Caldecott. I also love maths and PSHE. In the 2017/18 school year I am excited at the prospect of the new 'Charity Champions' club and seeing the playleaders improve our playtimes.
