Jemma Rigby - Parent governorI'm a happily married mother of 2 children who both attend Riccall CP School. I run a womens co operative in York offering products made by mums getting back to work after having children. I come into school twice a week which I find incredibly rewarding. I'm also the vice chair of the PTA and although a relative newcomer into the village have been included in the varied and fun social side of the village school and its parents
Pauline Painter - Clerk to the Governing Body I became Clerk of the Governors at Riccall in 2006, having had 12 years experience before that as a governor of a primary school in York. I have three school age children and live in York. Peter Northrop - Parent Governor I have been a parent governor for four years and have a son who is now in year 6. I am married and we have lived in Riccall for the last nine years. I worked as a social worker with Children and Families for twenty years before moving into training and now I work in staff developmentI feel that is it important to be part of my son’s school life, and being a governor helps me to understand school’s today. Anne Daniel - Non-Teaching Staff I have been a member of the governing body for over six years, and school secretary for over seven years. I am married with two children who both attended Riccall School, my son is at university and my daughter is in her final year at York College. I enjoy gardening, reading, going to the theatre, eating out and watching rugby. Paul Brough Jones - ChairmanA father of two, Milly (five and a half and counting!) and Jacob (only two but convinced he is a 'big-boy'), I have lived in the village for 10 years. I work as an education consultant, having previously spent 10 years as a Primary School Deputy Headteacher. I 'took office' as Chair of Governors in November 2006, and look forward to being associated with the school for many years to come.
Steve Bone - Parent GovernorAs a Parent Governor I am very proud to be a part of Riccall Community Primary School and its aims. I have two children, Hannah aged 9 and Katherine 4 years. I am married to Sheryl (age on application). I work for The College of Law as a Careers Manager, which basically means advising students who have graduated from University who are seeking work in Legal Services eventually to become Solicitors or Barristers. This also involves working with employers helping them find the right candidates. Prior to this I graduated from York University and have gained post graduate qualifications in careers guidance and further education teaching (PGCE). I gain great satisfaction from helping others to succeed. My previous experience involved working as a careers adviser with a broad range of young and more mature people covering a range of abilities. I have lived in Yorkshire for 18 years. Manju Barker - LA Governor My name is Manju Barker. I became an LA governor last year for the school and am looking forward to another busy year in helping the school in acheiving its aims together with the rest of the governing body and headteacher. I am married with a young son who attends this lovely school. I have had a varied career in the Civil Service, although trained as a surveyor I am now manager of the Human Resource Department. I hope my skills and experience will come in handy in my duties to serve the school. Peter Harrington - co-opted I have been a Riccall resident for 11 years, I'm married to Wendy and have two children at the school. I am delighted to be part of the governing body. Professionally, 20 years has passed creating and growing businesses in research, marketing, printing and educational software – somewhat weird since I’m convinced the 21st birthday landmark has only just been overhauled. Love spending time in the hills, but have to confess to long-term affair with food and cooking.
I became a governor of Riccall Primary School in 2006. I am retired from full time employment. My last working position was as Chief Executive of a Plant Hire Company, during the last ten years I have been associated with many professional bodies including Institute of Logistics and Distribution Management, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and the Institute of Environmental Management. I believe that the management and leadership experience will be of value and benefit to the school.Grace Curtis - Teacher governor I teach year 2/3. I am a new teacher in Riccall and have just moved to the area from Newcastle where I trained to be a teacher. I enjoy playing netball and cycling, reading and playing the piano. This year I will be coaching our netball team and helping to run the recorder club. |
